The Porsche 964 Turbo is one of the most iconic 911s ever built – but the X33 Werksleistungssteigerung (WLS) version belongs to a much rarer league. The X33 factory power kit increased power from 320 hp to 355 hp at 5,750 rpm and torque to 480 Nm at 4,500 rpm, thanks to a host of engine upgrades fitted directly by Porsche at Zuffenhausen:

• Revised camshafts with Turbo S-spec profiles

• Reworked cylinder heads and valves for improved airflow

• Increased turbocharger boost pressure

• Revised ignition and fuel mapping

The result was a sharper, more responsive, and significantly faster 911 Turbo – bridging the gap between the standard 964 Turbo and the Turbo S, yet retaining an understated exterior. Only 192 examples were ever produced worldwide, making the X33 one of the rarest air-cooled Turbos Porsche built.

Powered by the M30/69S 3.3-litre single-turbo flat-six, performance remains thrilling: 0–100 km/h in around 4.7 seconds, and a top speed over 280 km/h. Combined with its manual gearbox and limited-slip differential, it offers one of the most engaging air-cooled driving experiences.
