History
The 993 C4S has a wider rear compared to the standard Carrera and a front air damper derived from the contemporary Turbo. The car has an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD) and the 993 was the first 911 with multi-link rear suspension. The brakes are operated by silver calipers with the Porsche logo above transverse rotors on all four corners.
Interior
The heated front seats are upholstered in Rubicon Gray partial leather and are complemented by a color-matched center console, door panels and carpet. To the right of the center console is an outdated mobile phone and amenities include a CD stereo, cruise control and air conditioning. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instruments, including a central tachometer with a red speed of 6,800 rpm, a speedometer of 300 km /u, a Quarz analog clock and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 68k kilometers, of which approximately 200 were credited by the selling dealer.
Design
The 993 was seen as the pinnacle of the air-cooled era. It impressed from every angle with its exciting interpretation of the Porsche design DNA. This included the interplay of concave and convex forms. The integrated bumpers underlined the harmonious overall impression. The poly-ellipsoid headlights made the front section flatter than in its predecessors.
Engine and Gearbox
The air-cooled 3.6L flat-six was good for 282 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque from the factory. Power is sent to all four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox with limited-slip differential. The transmission oil was changed in 2023.
