993 Carrera Targa

The 993 is widely regarded as the most desirable air-cooled 911, the final evolution before the move to water cooling. The Targa version, built only from 1996 to 1998, broke with the classic removable-roof tradition and introduced a full-length electric glass roof that slides back beneath the rear window. With production limited to roughly 4.600 units, it remains the rarest 993 body style and a true collector choice nowadays.

Power comes from the sturdy 3.6L M64/21 Varioram flat-six, delivering 285 hp and around 340 Nm through the slick G50/21 six-speed manual gearbox. The Varioram intake gives this later 993 stronger mid-range and a more flexible engine than the early cars: smooth, torquey with the unmistakably air-cooled soundtrack.

What sets this car apart is its rare Turquoise Metallic (L25D) paint, a striking factory colour far from the usual shades of silver and black. Inside it is fitted with a matching blue leather (FJ) interior with seat heating on both sides and upgraded sound system (490). To top it off, the car is equipped with lowered sport suspension (033) and lovely Litronic headlights (601), very rare options on a 993 Targa!

The car was delivered new in Germany through Porsche Zentrum Nurnberg on 4 April 1996 in C00 German-market specification. It has spent its long second life in Switzerland, maintained with care and a complete service trail including work through Porsche Classic Zentrum Zurich and long-standing specialists.

The most recent service was carried out in June 2026, with the fitment of new brake discs, tires, oil and filters. It is ready to enjoy all summer! We ship worldwide.
